When you’re walking down chapel street and in the mood for something sweet, Lukumades is a great place to satisfy your sweet tooth. What they specialise in is pretty self-explanatory but traditionally these little Greek doughnuts balls are simply drizzled with honey. At Lukumades they pair modern flavours with the delightful deep fried doughy balls which makes all the difference.
We started with the matcha lukumades. The actual doughnuts are incredibly light, super fluffy inside and have a golden fried outer. The matcha white chocolate sauce on these doughnuts was delicious.
Secondly we tried the snickers lukumades which was covered in milk chocolate sauce, drizzled with caramel and then topped with crushed peanuts. Also very delicious. The combination of the light doughnuts and the intense chocolatey topping was all kinds of wonderful.
The milkshakes surprisingly helped cut through the richness of the doughnuts. We had the salted caramel and Nutella milkshakes which were a good time.
