Le Plonc - High tea caviar three ways
Le Plonc - High tea caviar three ways

Opulent, elegant, contemporary and wildly delicious is how I would describe Le Plonc’s high tea. They don’t do the tiered plates of food which high tea is usually known for, rather it’s a modern approach to high tea taking you on a culinary journey instead of you working your way down the plates. The quality was next level, each morsel carefully crafted and bursting with flavour.

We started with a glass of French champagne of course. They have a range of fancy champagnes so you can choose how much of a baller you want to be.

The first plate was caviar three ways. A fresh oyster with champagne mignonette and sevruga caviar, a petit crumpet with crème fraiche and big pops of salmon caviar and beef tartare on a potato crisp with siberion sturgeon caviar. All of these, amazing.

Next we had a soft cheese tart with sweet onion and thinly sliced apple, smoked duck pâté and orange jam on a little toast and a creamy mushroom and truffle arancini ball.

The finger sandwiches came out and my jaw dropped, particularly for the three cheese toastie with a generous amount of black truffle shaved over the top. It was delicious The other sandwiches were impressive too there was a poached chicken, walnut and chive sandwich and roasted beef with horseradish.

We moved onto the sweets and there was a great combination of petit desserts. Lemon meringue, chocolate friand, salted caramel tart and raspberry macaron.

Like a traditional high tea we ended with scones and tea. There was a combination of plain and raisin scones, naturally I had one of each with strawberry jam and apricot jam and cream. I was in heaven. I paired my scones with a pot of earl grey.

I would highly recommend this for high tea the food was outstanding and it was such a fun afternoon. The space and décor is stunning and they have some large spaces for group bookings.

I heart Le Plonc!
