The Beer and Burger Bar specialises in, you guessed it, beer and burgers. They have a range of international and craft beers on offer and a variety of burgers from beef to chicken to pulled pork and they have vegetarian options too. If you feel like beer and burgers in Richmond, this is where it’s at.
It’s a casual place with share tables so you can bring your crew.
We started with some mac and cheese balls. The macaroni was cooked well and it was super cheesy inside with a crunchy crumb. Yum.
On the specials there was loaded buffalo chicken waffle fries so naturally we had to order it. The waffle fries were awesome, they were super crispy but still had a soft potato centre. They were topped with pulled chicken in buffalo sauce, blue cheese and sriracha chilli oil. Holy moly these were a winner.
We tried the classic beef burger which was tasty. It had a big thick beef pattie with smoky crisp bacon, beetroot relish, swiss cheese, tomato, lettuce, American mustard, tomato sauce and aioli.
The chicken burger had a big fillet of crispy southern fried chicken with smoked bacon, swiss cheese, smashed avo, tomato, lettuce and chipotle aioli.
I ordered the B.O.B which was a beast of a burger. It was massive and at first I thought there was no way I could finish it, but I pushed through and ate that whole thing. It basically had all of the above. It had a beef pattie, southern fried chicken, double bacon, pineapple, jalepenos, double American cheese, lettuce, tomato and cola BBQ sauce. I probably like my burger cooked a little more rare but the chicken was juicy and the sweetness of the pineapple and the spicy jalepenos really made this burger epic.
The beer on offer was good, the burgers were tasty and it’s a great place to catch up with mates.
