Estelle bistro lives next door to it's fine-dining counterpart ESP and while it's slightly more casual, it's still without a doubt refined food with a bit of fancy. The exposed brick walls and green plants on the wall contrast well with white clothed tables and create a stylish atmosphere. You can choose your own dishes or opt for the set course tasting menu.

The goats cheese churros with truffle honey is a must. As soon as we took a bite we were immediately ordering more. They are delicious to say the least.

Estelle bistro - asparagus

The asparagus, egg, puffed rice dish looked like a beautiful little garden. The asparagus was tender, the egg acted as a creamy sauce and the puffed rice added a bit of char and crunch.

Estelle bistro - wagyu tartare
Estelle bistro - wagyu tartare

The sher wagyu tartare was top quality 9+ grade beef so you can imagine how soft and melt-in-your-mouth it was. It had rich egg yolks, thinly sliced onion, crispy onion, pickles to cut through the richness and was decorated with alliums and capers.

The kingfish was sliced thinly and served with green tomato and mango which added a touch of sour which went well. The care put into how the ingredients were cut gave  this dish a really nice textural mouthfeel.

The charred leek looked like a little lilly pad pond. It had charred pieces of leek that tasted caramelised and the soup had a really lovely clean flavour.

The Humpty doo barramundi had a crispy skin and fell apart effortlessly when we cut into it. It was served with some mashed potato and peas. Simple done well.

The Grass fed sirloin was beautiful with an intense aromatic shitake sauce and a crispy golden potato galette.

Then onto dessert. We had the chocolate ganache which was smooth and thick and paired well with the poached pear.

Estelle bistro - burnt custard

The burnt custard was amazing, it had a smooth texture with a dark caramel flavour to it. It was paired with blueberries, granola crumb and vanilla ice-cream. Excellent finish to the meal.

I heart Estelle bistro!
