Legacy Camberwell is a great place for brunch. Whether you want coffee, smoothies, something healthy or something indulgent, you can find it all here. The food is colourful and the staff are friendly. When brunch is this good you just have to keep coming back to try the whole menu.
Coffee was good.
They had a few superfood smoothies on the menu so we tried ‘Mr Brightside.’ It had dragonfruit, coconut infused yoghurt, chia seeds, mango, banana and honey and was a bright pinky purple colour. It was so pretty and super refreshing.
We started with the Legacy buttermilk fried chicken bao which was delish. There were three little soft baos, the chicken was crispy and juicy in the middle, the pickled cabbage was crisp and it was topped with a mildly spicy, creamy mustard and sriracha mayo.
I loved the sushi bowl. If you love sushi then you’re gonna love this dish, it’s basically a deconstructed bowl of sushi (kind of like a poke bowl). It had sushi rice in the bottom with salmon tataki (slightly seared and served rare) with sesame seeds around the edges, half an avocado sliced, squares of nori, watermelon radish (those mini ones) sliced thinly, sweet pickled ginger, spring onions, shichimi chilli and a fried egg on top.
The mixed berry French toast is popular and it’s no wonder why. The assortment of berries lightly stewed in a berry compote, a dollop of vanilla mascarpone and some fluffy classic style French toast. It was heavenly.
