Lux Foundry is becoming a bit of an establishment in Brunswick. The place has been around for about 8 years and is still growing strong. They said they change up the menu quarterly to keep it interesting but also keep the classics for the loyal locals. The food is delicious so it will definitely keep you coming back again and again.
Not to mention the coffee was awesome which is important for a good café.
We had the croquettes which had a crunchy golden crumb and a creamy leek and cheddar filling. They were served on a silky smooth cauliflower puree with a fresh zingy salsa verde. Then there was the grilled chorizo, wilted spinach and a runny poached egg. It was a really good comforting winter dish.
Next up was smashed avo with the lot. There was quinoa tabouli, soy roasted pumpkin seeds and marinated Persian feta on seeded sourdough toast. With the addition of a poached egg, vine roasted tomatoes and mushrooms. It was colourful and delicious.
For dessert we tucked into the brioche French toast. It was pure indulgence. There was espresso mascarpone, dark chocolate crumb, poached spiced pear, fresh berries and a pot of decadent salted toffee.
They have a big outdoor seated area which is perfect in the warmer weather and even more perfect if you wanna bring your furry friend pups.
Also I should mention they throw a great function. I had my engagement party there many moons ago and it was a fantastic night. The gorgeous high ceilings and the exposed brick interior with industrial-meets-greenery style was fabulous. The staff were really easy going and a joy to deal with on the night and the food was top quality. The arancini were my absolute favourite, which they still have on the menu yasssss! It’s a great place for brunch and or a function. It’s been around for ages and looks like it will be arounds for many more years to come.
I heart Lux Foundry!
