AU79 is a new place to brunch in Abbotsford and it is absolutely stunning. As you walk in, greenery is of abundance so plant lovers brace yourself. It’s a huge space seating 200 guests. As well as a café they are in-house coffee roasters, a bakery, and a patisserie.

The crew that own Sir Charles, Addict food and coffee, liar liar and prospect espresso have done it again and brought you a new hip place to add to your brunch list.

The café is named AU79, which is a combination of the symbol and atomic number of gold. I was thinking these people have been either been watching too much breaking bad or this place is as good as gold. As I walked through I saw it was the latter, the place looked a million bucks and even the confit duck bao I ate had a bush stroke of edible gold over the top.

Mmm fresh breads.

Just some of the patisserie desserts.

The images are from the launch so the pictures are just mini versions of the dishes on offer. This was a miniature version of the AU79 big breakfast with potato hash, confit tomato, mushroom and relish. Yum.

The cured salmon was delicious. On the menu they have a crispy skin salmon with a lovely green dill emulsion, puffed grains, freekah, sea greens and pickled beet.

The cofit duck baos had a good kick of chilli with the daikon kimchi and ssamjang (chilli) mayo. They had a gold dusted on the tops, which was an elegant touch.

These little mango and cream mini cones with freeze dried raspberry on top were so cute.

This open-space large eatery has a lot on offer. They have homemade breads, freshly ground coffee, sweet desserts and delicious brunch fare. Head on down for a touch of gold.

I heart AU79!
