Jack B Nimble is a restaurant in Maidstone with an awesome brunch menu. The chef has a background in Malaysian cooking and you can see that influence come through in the dishes. The meals are stylish, flavoursome and are made with a lot of heart. Lucky for the people who live in and around Maidstone, they now have a local brunch spot without having to travel far and wide.
As you walk in you are transported into a modern brunch space.

And they do a good cold drip.
The spiced cotechino (sausage) was delicious underneath a tomato based sauce with braised beans. It was topped with cucumber ribbons, pickled persimmon, greek yoghurt, pistachio dukkah and poached eggs. It was moreish and gave me warm fuzzies. Delish!
The slow roasted lamb shoulder was falling apart and was placed in a grilled milk bun with an egg omelette. The milk bun was incredibly light and fluffy. It was topped with a spicy chilli mayo, coriander, and spring onion. It was full of flavour.
The Southern fried chicken burger had a huge fillet of chicken that was crispy on the outside and super moist in the middle. It was drizzled with a chipotle aioli and had lettuce and a green apple slaw in a soft bun.
The French toast had thick cuts of buttery bread, beautifully poached pears, kiwi and pomegranate for some freshness and a subtle earl grey flavoured mascarpone that was lovely. All of this was sitting on a thick dulce de leche caramel which brought it all together. Um yum!
The freshly baked Madeleines were perfection. They were soft and buttery with golden crispy edges. Loved them. They were paired with a blueberry yoghurt which went well. Nothing beats madeleines straight outta the oven. A great finish to our meal.
I visited a while back and they use seasonal produce so there might be a few alterations in the menu. This modern brunch spot has lots of style and the food is tasty. It is particularly good for those who live in or around Maidstone, you don’t have to travel to far for a quality brunch session.
